I can appreciate how long this must've took.

there were so many that I've done that will just end up getting deleted as they weren't quite right.

However, the series I've just done was a real pleasure to get... young dragonfly

Still there where a lot of shots that just didn't make it. The main issue, as mine isn't an SLR - the range finder is slightly offset from the lense.
And as it's autofocus only :omg:

It was a real hassle to get it to focus on the insect and the background.

I'll make sure to check yours out :) Mine was actually on autofocus, and I had a somewhat easy time with it. I'm still trying to learn the manual settings!

Beautiful capture, i just love dragonflies, especially blue ones. I love the way their faces almost seem like they are smiling with their huge almost manga like eyes.

Faving, Epic Win!

I love that too about the mouth. I have this blown up on my wall, and it still amazes me with how it apears to be smiling

You have so much patience - I reckon your strong points are definitely macro's and portraits, but your landscapes are very strong too! You are a very versatile photographer!
I just love his/her eye, and the dryness and colour of the grass

I was super lucky...the thing just didn't move. So I started from far away, so I wouldn't scare it off, and then I just got closer and closer. I even ended up leaving it there  I got the shot I wanted without it taking off! Good luck too....I'm working on getting a good butterfly one now ;p I attempted yesterday and got an ok one....not as close up as I like. But I ended up getting poison ivy up my arm :| Damn it lol

Oh wow, what a photogenic dragonfly ;P
Hopefully mine will get used to me poking my nose around then lol.
I've taken a few decent pictures of butterflies, not uploaded them because they are all brown and white. The day I take one of a blue one it'll find its way onto DA ^^
